Tita Piaz:
On 13 October 1879, Tita Piaz was born in Pera di Fassa in eastern Trentino. His father earned money by trading horses and crossing the mountains to sell goods in the neighbouring Val Gardena, whilst his mother was a pedlar who travelled as far as Bolzano to sell some of the handful of items she carried wrapped up in a handkerchief.
